José Ángel Taboada González

I am an associate professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), in the area of Computing Languages and Systems, and I belong to Electronics and Computing Department. I obtained my BS in Physics in this university (1990), as well as my PhD, in 1996. From 2003 to 2006 I was the secretary of higher degree “Information and Communications Technologies”, and since december 2010 I am the secretary of Electronics and Computing Department at the USC.

I have participated in more than 70 I+D+i activities. Among them, a very significant part (more than fifty), are directly related with technological transfer to companies through research contratcs. In this field, I participaded managing the sectorial program “Information Society”, from galician research programs PGIDIT 2002-2005 and INCITE 2006-2010, taking place between years 2004 and 2007. Besides, I am founding partner of a USC's spin-off company, dedicated to recreate virtual environments for interactive digital museums.

Although my initial works were related with supervision of patients and equipment integration in Intensive Care Units, from 1998 I focused in building supervision, through a project that keeps University of Santiago de Compostela supervising 47 buildings, including 10 cogeneration motors. At the moment, we want to use this experience working in Ambient Intelligence field.
