CiTIUS: From sensors to language

CiTIUS is part of the seven accredited units by the funding program of "axudas para a acreditación, estruturación e mellora de centros de investigación singulares e agrupaciones estratéxicas consolidadas” of the Galician’s university system. Economic funds associated to the accreditation are one of the main contributions to the operation of the Centre.

This program depends of the Consellería de Cultura, Educación e Ordenación Universitaria of the Galician government, and is co-funded by the European Union, under the Operational Programme Galicia 2014-2020, with the tematic objective of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research.

Objectives

CiTIUS objectives for the period of the accreditation are divided into the following groups:

  1. Strategic challenges, related to the objectives and actions defined in the Strategic Plan 2016-2018 of the Center.
  2. Scientific challenges, that include the scientific objectives related to its scientific project.

CiTIUS scientific project for the period, From sensors to language, attempts to provide solutions to some of the main challenges of the Information Technology for the coming years from a multidisciplinary and integrative perspective, establishing a project which involves the whole research capacities of the center in a context of common objectives. This project will contribute to the improvement of CiTIUS research activity through its internationalisation, valorisation and transfer.
