Small Target Detection

The detection of small targets can be defined as the localization of the smaller objects that can be identified by humans. The use of computational techniques for the detection of small targets is an important challenge for current artificial vision systems.

Nowadays, there exists and increasing demand for the development of technologies for the security sector by companies interested in integrating the technology in their solutions and by final users. The present project, contracted by Gradiant, will allow to increase the capacities of current videovigilance systems in applications like detection of drone attacks, rescue operations, sea traffic monitoring, etc.

Objectives

The specific objectives of the project are the following:

  • To develop a solution for the detection of small targets in video that can work in aerial and maritime environments.
  • To develop an embedded solution of the technology.
